The Wonder of Nature Amazes us

wonders-of-nature-hqIn the last blog, we talked about how God has revealed Himself in Nature. Look around you!

A vital starting point in the Christian Life is found in the Bible:  Romans 1:20 which says, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”

You develop an incredible amazement for who God is. That He is the Master Creator of the Universe. That not only is He in control of the heavenly cosmos but also microscopically in control of every cell in your body! (see  DNA below)  Your walk with the Lord starts here. Everything else is built on this principle. REPEAT! You have an incredible awe for who God is. “The fear (amazing awe) of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. (Proverbs 1:7)

Some of you out there are easily impressed with Nature, others are more skeptical. One of the ways that God has impressed me is with the mathematics of Nature.  That’s where Fibonacci comes in. Remember we talked about the magical ratio of  1.62/1.0 in Nature?  Look back in the last blog to see how this astonishing ratio was derived.  The Fibonacci series: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233.

God, the Master builder knew the importance of this ratio to create maximal leverage



On the genetic level, DNA base pairs are spaced; YES you got it, at a ratio of 1.62 apart!



So the next time you look at a Pineapple, think not only of Fibonacci but also of God’s phenomenal plan in NATURE!  I could go on and on……Amazing is all I can say.

    Think of how excited you feel when you ‘come up with’ an idea or an innovation. You feel accomplished. You may feel elated. I like to think about God creating the universe and being so glorified just by it’s beauty, majesty, order, organization. And here we are with our little pea brains figuring out some little part of it’s awe, wonder and majesty. It is so great to be able to see the order of things and see some little parts of God’s languages that are built into our world. I hope we get to understand even a little bit more of it and share in that wonder in eternity. No wonder the heavens cry out of His glory. No wonder we will just want to say Holy, Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty!
