That may be. But I think the word “sobering” is the word I like to apply to this topic. And you should too. The facts are important. Remember Dragnet?
Be sound-minded and sober about your life. Know what you are getting in to….
Maybe it’s because I’ve worked in healthcare for almost forty years and seen hundreds of people close to me die. Most all of them are patients of mine.
Mostly older, but sometimes younger than me, and sometimes teenagers or young adults. Sobering, isn’t it? You betchya.
Here today, gone tomorrow. But wow; doesn’t the believer have HOPE? Absolutely. But not so for the rejecter of Christ.
Let’s continue. We talked about that were FOUR JUDGMENTS described in the Bible. The Bema Seat Judgment if the first one described in the last blog. There are three others discussed, and here they are. Get ready for some teaching:
2)The Judgments (multiple) during the Tribulation– The Seal Judgments cover the first quarter of the 7 year tribulation or about 21 months, during which the Antichrist comes on the scene and conquers the world by diplomacy. Then the breaking of the 7th seal introduces the 7 Trumpet Judgments, which will cause even greater catastrophes to come to the earth. When Satan indwells Antichrist in the middle of the Tribulation, that introduces the last 1260 days or 3 ½ years, which is the “Great Tribulation.” The 7th trumpet, like the 7th seal, does nothing but introduce the 7 Bowl Judgments, which are the severest of all the judgments. One-half of the world’s population will be killed in the Tribulation Judgments. (Revelation 6:8, 9:18)
This is a scary judgment for those left on the planet earth during the seven year tribulation when the Antichrist is all-powerful. Because I am a pre-tribulation rapture believer, I don’t believe that those believers of the Christian church will be around at that awful time in the future. We can discuss this point any time, but I will blog on in the future when we discuss Eschatology (future times). I’ll try to make a point then.
3)Judgment of the Nations after the Second Coming and before the Millennium– Jesus is coming back for his second coming to earth at the Battle of Armageddon. The Millenium as a 1000 year period of time that occurs after the Battle of Armageddon. Those people who endure the Tribulation will be delivered if they survive the Judgment of the Nations described by Jesus in Mathew 25:31-46. There are three groups of people at this judgment; 1) unsaved followers of Antichrist (goats); they will go to the Lake of Fire 2) the believers who survive are called “sheep” 3) the “brethren” whom the sheep befriend–Jewish people who go into the Millennium as believers or “completed Jews“ . These probably include the 144,000 witness of Revelation 7. Many Jews will turn to their Messiah during the Tribulation.- Ezekiel 11:19, 18:31, 37:15-28.
This is the Judgment that most Christians are not aware of.
Then, thirdly, the BIG DADDY of them all:
4)The Great White Throne Judgment (occurs at the end of the Millennium)– Christians are not included in the this Judgment! Revelation 20:11-15 Then, John sees a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. The judgment of the unregenerate mankind by its Creator God will now occur. John 5:22 says, “The Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son.” Acts 17:31; Romans 2:16 says that He will judge the world with justice by the man (Jesus) He has appointed. 2 Timothy 4:1 says, “Jesus will judge the living and the dead.” Hebrews 10:30-31 Justice belongs to God, God will repay sinners who reject Christ; “The Lord Himself will handle these cases.” It is a fearful thing to fall in to the hands of the living God. This is the “second” resurrection, in contrast to the first resurrection, which was for believers. (Revelation 20:5-6). In Jesus’ words, those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.-see John 5:29. The judgment is universal, for they have come from every part of the now-destroyed earth: “The sea gave up the dead that were in it,” and the dry-land graves, “death and Hades” gave up those buried in the earth. (compare Luke 16:23). Each person will be judged for what they have done. Unfortunately, there is none righteous! (see Ecclesiastes 7:20, Proverbs 20:9, Romans 3:23, 5;12, Romans 6:23. The lake of fire is the place for the second death. This death has no power over believers. This is a nasty, everlasting place of torment where the devil Satan, himself is. Jesus died to save mankind from experiencing this death! See 1 Corinthians 15:26, 54, 57. Remember, those whose name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life do not have to worry about the Great White Throne Judgment.
There you have it. A tidy summary of the FOUR JUDGMENTS in the Bible.
